Dear Parents/Carers, Students and Friends
Farewell to the Class of 2026
As the Class of 2026 reaches the final days of their formal schooling at Frankston High School, I want to take a moment to congratulate them on this significant milestone and, more importantly, to thank them for the contribution they have made to our school community.
The end of Year 12 represents so much more than the completion of school. It marks the culmination of years of learning, friendships, challenges, achievements and personal growth. Over that time, our students have experienced the inevitable highs and lows of school life, learned from setbacks, celebrated successes and, importantly, grown into young adults ready to take their next steps.
Throughout their time at Frankston High School, the Class of 2026 have contributed to the character and culture of our school. They have demonstrated the values we hold so strongly: respect, responsibility, resilience and empathy, and have shown that being part of a school community is about more than individual achievement. It is also about the way we support, encourage and make a difference to those around us.
I would particularly like to acknowledge our School Captains, Eliza Patston and Sam Murray, and our Deputy Captains, Zoe Cross and Alex O'Rourke, for their leadership throughout the year. They have worked alongside our other student leaders, represented the student body with distinction and been positive role models for younger students.
I also thank all Year 12 students who have contributed through leadership positions and student groups, including our House Captains, Student Leadership Council, Interact Club and Eco Team. Their willingness to step forward, contribute their ideas and work alongside students and staff has helped strengthen our school and leave it in a better place for those who follow.
No group of students reaches this point alone. I extend my sincere thanks to all of our teachers and staff who have supported, challenged, encouraged and nurtured the Class of 2026 throughout their secondary schooling. In particular, I acknowledge our Senior School Team: Mr Heyes, Ms Harvey, Ms Stewart, Mr Mooney, Ms Milne, Ms Goodman, Mr Hawker, Ms Caminiti, Mr McMahon, Ms McIver, Ms Thomas, Ms Tymms, Ms Donegan, Ms Lyon, Mrs Koning, Ms Lin and Ms Ren. Their commitment, care and tireless work have played an important role in helping our students reach this point.
To the Class of 2026, as you leave Frankston High School, take with you not only the knowledge and skills you have developed, but also the friendships, experiences and lessons that have shaped who you are. Be curious. Be courageous. Continue to learn. Be prepared to take opportunities, to challenge yourself and to make a positive difference to the lives of others.
Optima Semper
Central Australia Trip
Thank you to the staff who attended our recent Year 11 Central Australia Trip: Ms Argiriou, Mr Cameron, Ms Kelly, Mr Martin, Ms Milne, Ms Parker, Ms Richardson, Mr Smith, Mr Wallington, and Ms Westlake. The trip was a great success enjoyed by close to 80 Year 11 students who had a wonderful time experiencing our fantastic country. Well done to all students who represented the school and themselves so well.
Year 12 Practice Examinations
During the recent September holiday period, we ran our Year 12 Practice Examinations. Thank you to Mr Heyes for his efforts organising these, run by our examination supervisors and overseen by Ms Harvey, Ms Goodman, Mr Mooney and Mr Hawker on various days throughout the two weeks. It is a wonderful opportunity for our students to prepare for the upcoming VCAA examination period and apply the knowledge and skills they have been taught.
