CBCA Book Week 2026

We had a fantastic time celebrating CBCA Book Week at the end of last term! Students enthusiastically took part in a range of activities, including our Book in a Song competition, Book Club sessions, book selfie and bookmark competitions, and daily library raffles. Congratulations to all our participants and winners, showcased below!

Book in a Song Competition Winners

A RAP verse inspired by Project Hail Mary:

On a desperate mission to save his home

Ryland Grace finds himself all alone

Unfortunately his crew have met their end

But in this time he meets an unusual frend

Oscar 7I

A RAP verse inspired by Specky Magee:

Specky Magee on the field kicking goals with flair

Flying for a mark like he’s floating through the air

Footy in his heart, he loves the game

Specky Magee’s a legend, remember his name

Byron 7F

A RAP verse inspired by The Land of Stories:

Yo! Flip the page, hear the kingdom call,

magic in the air and adventure for all

From castles high to forests deep,

there are secrets that the stories keep

No map, no rules, just follow the light,

Grab your courage and step into the night

Because when the real world fades away

A brand new story begins today.

Bookmark Competition

We also enjoyed dressing up as our favourite book characters, while the Year 12 cohort held its very first Book Character Parade. It was wonderful to see so much creativity, enthusiasm and love of reading across the school!

Overdue Library Books | Reminder

A reminder that all books borrowed last term are now overdue and need to be returned or renewed ASAP.

Students receive automated email reminders from our Library System when books become overdue. Books overdue by more than one month are classified as Long-Overdue, prompting a final notice to students and parents via Compass, usually once a term.  If books are still not returned after 14 days, the replacement cost is charged to the student’s account, and an invoice notice is sent to parents.

We are currently sending out a large number of final overdue notices via Compass, so please keep an eye on your emails and encourage your students to return or renew their books promptly.

Students can check their loans at any time by following these steps:

Compass → Star menu → FHS Library → Log in (top right) → Profile (top right)
