ResearchED 2026 - Ballarat

The Sandringham College community was proud to be strongly represented at ResearchED Ballarat 2026, with an incredible 23 staff members attending the conference  - the largest contingent from any school. Giving up their Saturday to be part of this significant professional learning event, our staff demonstrated a shared commitment to continually refining their practice and improving outcomes for our students.

It was the biggest ResearchED ever held in Australia, bringing together hundreds of educators from across Victoria, interstate and overseas, all united by a common goal: to engage with evidence-based teaching and learning. The conference featured a wide range of expert speakers and classroom practitioners, offering insights into effective pedagogy, curriculum design and the science of learning. This year, the conference featured 34 expert speakers, including two incredible keynote presenters: British author and leading education thinker, David Didau, and practising teacher and author, Bronwyn Ryrie Jones.

Our staff immersed themselves in this rich professional dialogue, attending sessions on a wide range of topics. The day provided an opportunity not only to learn from leading educational thinkers, but also to connect with like-minded professionals and reflect on how best to translate research into impactful classroom practice.

I could not be more proud of the collective enthusiasm and dedication of the Sandringham College team. Choosing to spend a Saturday engaging deeply with educational research speaks volumes about the culture of our staff - one that values growth, collaboration, excellence and evidence-informed teaching.

As a school, we are committed to being a community of learners. Opportunities like ResearchED Ballarat allow our teachers to remain at the forefront of educational practice, ensuring that our students benefit from high-quality, research-informed instruction every day.

I want to sincerely thank our 23 staff members for their professionalism and their truly outstanding commitment to teaching and learning.
