Congratulations to all the students who auditioned for the school musical and those who have been given a role in the cast! We were incredibly proud of the hard work we saw in your preparation for your auditions. We are two rehearsals in and we are already seeing amazing work from everyone! We are looking forward to working with you all over the next two terms.

We will be rehearsing on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school AND Sundays in Term 2 and in Term 3.

Students who wish to be in the cast are expected to commit to the rehearsal and production dates. It is a commitment but a rewarding experience too.

The College Production is one of the College events that involves students from 7 to 12. We look forward to seeing many students get involved in this exciting extra-curricular experience.

DANCE ACADEMY INDUSTRY DAY

Our Year7-9 Dance Academy students participated in their first industry day of the year, on Monday 23rd March. This was an amazing opportunity for students to take classes in different styles, that are not part of their regular training. The day started with Acro, held by Leanne Le Page. This class was fun and challenging, and gave students some insight into new skills that they may not do outside of their regular dance training. I was very proud to see everyone giving it a go! Students then had a jazz class with Jake Keen. Jake has recently graduated from Transit Dance, and has already been involved with major productions such as 'Footloose', performed at the Athenaeum Theatre in Melbourne. This class was high energy, very technical and pushed students to perform at a high level. The final class of the day was lyrical with Ella McMillan. Ella is an extremely technical dancer and her choreography was a great challenge for our students. They worked very hard to find beautiful flow and performance in this class, whilst approaching some new movements that took them out of their comfort zone.

Congratulations to all involved in this wonderful day of dance!

TOP CLASS DANCE CONCERT 2026

Our senior dance students attended the Top Class Dance 2026 excursion at the Melbourne Recital Centre, an inspiring concert showcasing outstanding young dancers from across Victoria. The program featured a diverse range of VCE/VET Dance styles, as well as VCE Dance skills-based and cohesive composition solos, performed by high-scoring 2025 Dance students. As part-showcase and part-masterclass, the event was compèred by Chief Assessors for VCE/VET Dance, providing valuable insight on how current VCE students can best prepare for their own performance examinations.

The full Top Class program is available on the VCAA Top Class webpage

Presented as part of the VCE Season of Excellence 2026 by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority, the excursion offered students a valuable opportunity to experience excellence in dance and deepen their understanding of assessment expectations.
