We encourage all families to take the time to familiarise themselves with these important documents. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the College.
Medication and Anaphylaxis
A reminder to all families to ensure that student medical information is current and up to date, including any medical alerts recorded with the College. It is particularly important that anaphylaxis plans and medications, such as EpiPens, are within their expiry dates and replaced as needed. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical information is essential to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students.
Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy
This policy outlines the College's commitment to creating and maintaining a child safe environment where all students are safe and feel safe. It covers the roles and responsibilities of staff, volunteers, and the school council, and details our approach to establishing culturally safe environments, managing risks, and empowering students to speak up about their safety.
Child Safety Code of Conduct
The Code of Conduct sets clear expectations for the behaviour of all adults, including staff, volunteers, and contractors when interacting with students. It outlines both acceptable and unacceptable behaviours and applies across all physical and online school environments.
Child Safety Responding and Reporting Obligations Policy and Procedure
This policy explains the procedures our school follows when responding to complaints or concerns about child abuse. It ensures all staff understand their legal obligations, including mandatory reporting requirements, and outlines the steps for immediate action, reporting to authorities, and providing ongoing support to affected students.
Preventing and Addressing Racism in Schools Policy
Racism is not tolerated at Sandringham College. Our school is committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment where the diversity of cultures, ethnicities and faiths of all our students is celebrated. We know that racism can have a serious impact on students' mental health, their learning, and their sense of belonging at school. In line with the Department of Education's Preventing and Addressing Racism in Schools Policy, we are actively building a culturally safe school by providing programs that teach about diversity and the impact of racism, using practices that support all students to thrive, and ensuring that clear and accessible pathways are in place for reporting racism. If your child experiences or witnesses racism or religious discrimination at school, please let us know by speaking to your child's Head of Year or Year Level Leader.

If you are not comfortable reporting to the school directly, or you are unsatisfied with the school's response, you can contact the Department of Education's Report Racism hotline on 1800 722 476 or by email at report.racism@education.vic.gov.au. Additional support is also available through the Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Inc. (VAEAI), the Jewish Community Council of Victoria, and the Islamic Council of Victoria. When a racist incident is reported, the College will take the report seriously, act quickly, provide ongoing support, and review the incident to help prevent it from happening again.
Bullying Prevention Policy
This policy makes clear that no form of bullying is tolerated at Sandringham College. It outlines the strategies and programs in place to build a positive school culture, defines what constitutes bullying, and explains how the College investigates and responds to reported incidents to ensure support is provided to all affected students.
Complaints Policy
The Complaints Policy outlines how students, parents, carers, and community members can raise concerns or complaints about issues at the College. It is designed to ensure all complaints are managed in a timely, fair, and respectful manner, with a focus on open communication and continuous improvement.
Visitor Policy
This policy establishes the processes for monitoring and managing visitors to Sandringham College during school hours. It outlines sign-in procedures, expectations for visitor conduct, and the measures in place to maintain a safe and secure environment for students and staff.
Volunteers Policy
The Volunteers Policy sets out the processes the College follows to recruit, screen, supervise, and manage volunteers. It ensures that all volunteers contribute to a child safe environment and understand their responsibilities, including Working with Children Check requirements.
Duty of Care Policy
This policy explains the legal duty of care obligations that all Sandringham College staff owe to students and members of the school community. It outlines the reasonable steps taken to reduce the risk of foreseeable harm, including supervision arrangements, emergency procedures, and coordination with related policies.
Student Dress Code Policy
