Sporting achievements

Year 8 Girls Badminton 

The Year 8 Girls Badminton competition was held at Kilsyth Badminton Stadium on Friday 16 August. Each team member Elly, Ava, Pakhi, Akshaya, Bonnie, and Micah (pictured in the header image above) demonstrated great sportsmanship and determination while in competition against very talented and skilled opponents from schools including: Ringwood SC, Bayswater SC, Brentwood SC,  Balwyn HS and  Glen Waverley SC. 

Thank you to Mrs Minnie Zeng who has volunteered her time after school and at lunchtimes to mentor and coach this successful team, developing a great sense of teamwork and resilience. Well done to each team member and good luck in your next round of state-level competition. 

State Senior Boys Netball

The Senior Boys Netball team competed at the State Championships on Monday 2 September. It was a difficult start to the first round. Arriving late to the game meant we lost the first round to Wangaratta. The boys went in with strong determination and won the second game against Lakeview Senior. The final game was against Drouin, who had won both their games and were leading the competition - we needed to win the game to proceed through to finals. However, we had a nail biting draw to end the day. 

Whilst it was an unfortunate start and end to the competition, the boys played competitive and high-level netball that showcased their skills on the court. For the Year 12s, well done! For the Year 11s, we will be back next year for another round! Well done! 

Division Athletics Report

On 21 August, 100 BBHS students headed to Division Athletics at Doncaster Athletics Track. There was a fantastic level of school pride from all students who attended. A huge thanks to all students who volunteered to help out with running events so that the day went smoothly for all.  

Special mentions to ShNaajh C, who set two new records:  

• U14 Female 200m: 27.69 seconds 
• U14 Female 100m: 13:56 seconds
