Middle School - Term 3 update

by Ms Eleanor Smith, Head of Middle School

The second half of this term was filled with engaging incursions and guest speakers for our Middle School students, aiming to provide essential life skills and knowledge.

Year 10 Highlights

Pat Cronin Foundation Visit

Our Year 10s were privileged to have the Pat Cronin Foundation speak to them about the devastating impacts of violence and the importance of making safe choices. This important session reinforced the value of empathy and community responsibility.

'Know the Score' Guest Speaker

Year 10 also had an informative session from the 'Know the Score' program. The guest speaker provided valuable insights into the risks associated with gambling, encouraging students to make informed choices.

Movie Night

To cap off the term, Year 10 students enjoyed a fun-filled movie night during the last week. It was a fantastic opportunity for the cohort to relax, socialise, and strengthen their relationships.

Year 9 events

Cyber Safety Workshop

Our Year 9 students participated in a Cyber Safety workshop, where they learned about online safety, digital footprints, and the responsible use of technology. This interactive session helped to raise awareness of the potential dangers online and emphasised the importance of maintaining a positive digital presence.

Term 4 - School for Student Leadership

We recently found out we have positions in the School for Student Leadership in Term 4. We have places at the Gnurad-Gundidj Campus in Western Victoria. We have been working through the EOI and interview process to select and get our students ready for this amazing opportunity. We can’t wait to see them engage with this program for the Term and develop their leadership skills.

Year 9 City Camp

We are looking forward to the other half of the cohort attending our new Citizenship Camp in November next term! Home Groups F to Z will be completing this camp that aligns with their Geography subject. Students will be exploring the features of our city and various aspects of citizenship.

We are proud of our Year 9 and 10 students for their active participation and enthusiasm throughout these events. We look forward to more exciting activities and learning opportunities in the coming term.

Wishing everyone a restful break and see you in Term 4!
