Assistant Principal's Report

Julia Bay

It is hard to believe that we are already at the end of Term 2 2025! The first half of the year has been a very busy and successful one, and we are looking forward to the winter break to rest and rejuvinate in preparation for Term 3.

I was fortunate to attend Level 4 Camp Rumbug in Week 9 of this term. I would like to acknowledge the work of Andrew Johnson for his organisation of this highly enjoyable event and thank all staff who gave their time to attend the camp. I was so proud of the Level 4 students who went outside their comfort zone by trying new activities such as the giant swing and mud run. They were resillient as they persevered through team challenges and showed great enthusiasm for all of the activities. We received wonderful feedback from the camp staff about the manners and respect shown by our DPS students.

We are continuously updating our grounds and facilities, recently with new carpet and a new desk installed in the library. The library is a calm and inviting part of our school community and Lisa Foster does an wonderful job keeping it organised and welcoming to all. A reminder that it is open for borrowing after school on both Mondays and Thursdays.

Congratulations to our DPS Village OHSC Team! We know what a dedicated and caring team they are, and this work has been acknowledged as they have been awarded 'Best Team of the Year' across the entire Village OSHC service. Thank you for the care, support and engaging activites you provide to our students.

I want to say thank you to all of our DPS families for a wonderful Semester One and I look forward to seeing you in Term 3.
