LOTE (Chinese)

As we wrap up an exciting term in our LOTE (Chinese) program, students across all year levels have been immersed in language and cultural learning through interactive and hands-on experiences.
Prep: Chinese Giant Panda 大熊猫
Prep students explored the beloved Chinese Giant Panda, learning basic vocabulary while enjoying drawing and storytelling activities centred around this national treasure of China.
Year 1 & 2: Months and Birthday 月份和生日
Year 1 and 2 learners focused on the 12 months and how to say their birthday month in Chinese. Through games and songs, they practised naming each month and shared their own special birthday month with the key sentence pattern: My birthday month is...我的生日月份是。。。
Year 3 &4: Directions in Chinese 方向
Year 3 and 4 students delved into directions in Chinese. They also created their own DIY direction cubes and used them to map out a farm. This engaging activity helped students apply their learning in a spatial and creative way.
Year 5&6: Time in Chinese 时间
Year 5 and 6 learners extended their knowledge of Chinese numbers to 1-60 and built their own analogue clock labelled in Chinese. This practical project strengthened both their number recognition and time-telling skills in Chinese.
It's been a wonderful term of language, creativity and cultural exploration!
