All School: Welcoming the Blessed Month of Ramadan at ICOM

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,Ramadan Mubarak!

ICOM joyfully welcomed the blessed month of Ramadan with our annual Welcome Ramadan Assembly, held during periods one and two. It was a heart-warming and uplifting event that truly captured the spirit and excitement of this special time.

The assembly began with a delightful surprise appearance from the ICOM mascots, bringing smiles and excitement to our students. This was followed by a series of inspiring performances presented by our talented and dedicated students. Highlights included a beautiful Ramadan nasheed (Ramadan Moon), a creative live Ramadan News Bulletin, an engaging drama depicting the first Muslim migration to Abyssinia, heartfelt Ramadan poetry, a moving Qur’an recitation of Ayaat As-Sawm, and a meaningful closing du’a.

We were wonderfully guided by our school captains, who served as confident and engaging MCs throughout the event. Students and staff were also inspired by Dr Abdul’s reminder about the blessings of Ramadan and the multiplication of our hasanat, encouraging us all to make the most of this sacred month.

As the Head of Islamic Studies, I look forward to a year filled with enriching, meaningful, and inspiring opportunities for our students to grow in knowledge, character, and faith, insha’Allah.

Ms. Bianca Iodice, Head of Faculty for Primary Islamic Studies

The Secondary School welcomed Ramadan with an equally thoughtful and spiritually uplifting gathering. Students and staff paused together to reflect on the profound significance of the month, recognising it as a call toward deeper worship, self-discipline, and compassionate service to others. It was a powerful reminder of the shared responsibility we hold in pursuing personal growth and uplifting one another in faith.

Adding to the joy of the occasion, ICOM's beloved Ramadan Mascots visited classrooms across the College, spreading warmth and the spirit of Ramadan wherever they went. To mark this blessed beginning, every student received a special Ramadan-themed gift from the College - a meaningful keepsake and lasting reminder of the thankfulness, generosity, and compassion that lie at the heart of this month.
