NSWCHS Athletics Championships
Our athletes delivered strong performances at NSWCHS, showing commitment and determination across a range of events. Andrew T achieved an impressive 4th in the 110m hurdles. Alexis G placed 7th in the 400m and 9th in the 800m. Ash B finished 14th in javelin, while Indira and Renee also competed strongly.
Zac had an epic 3 days at the NSWCHS Athletics Championships! Day 1 saw the Camden High relay team (Zac, Arthur, Theodore and Lucas) finish 2nd, while Zac placed 6th in the 200m final. Day 2 brought another 2nd-place finish for the SSW regional 4x200 relay team, and Zac made the 100m final. On Day 3, Zac finished 6th in the 100m final despite pulling a muscle during warm-up. We’re incredibly proud of his determination, effort and achievements!
Year 7 Gala Day
Camden High School students had a fantastic time attending Year 7 Gala Day, enjoying a great day of competition, teamwork and school spirit. Students proudly represented Camden High across Oztag, soccer and netball, demonstrating enthusiasm, sportsmanship and determination throughout the day. Congratulations to the Tigers, who were crowned winners of Boys Oztag, and to the Stingrays, who took out the Girls Oztag competition. It was a wonderful day of participation, friendship and fun!
Open Girl's Netball Team’s Remarkable Run at State Finals
Congratulations to our Open Girls netball team for a strong performance at the state finals after progressing through the Zone and Sydney Southwest carnivals earlier this year. The girls played against the best teams in the state over two days at the Finals in Week 7, including teams from various sports high schools.
The competition was tough, and our girls brought their best to the court, showing determination, resilience and teamwork. We ended up finished 15th in the state, an achievement which makes us very proud.
The squad’s dedication and consistent training since Term 4 last year were key to their success. Throughout the year, a range of team members contributed, stepping up in matches and supporting each other at all stages. The collective effort and commitment of the entire squad made this achievement possible.
Well done to all involved. The team has shown exceptional teamwork and determination and set a great example for our school community.
Basketball Gala Day - Oran Park
Recently, our U15 boys and girls basketball teams competed in a basketball gala day at Oran Park Leisure Centre. Both teams showed outstanding teamwork, determination and sportsmanship, proudly representing our school. The players approached every game with enthusiasm and supported each other throughout the event. We are very proud of their effort and positive attitude, which helped make the day enjoyable and memorable for everyone involved. Well done to both teams!
Staff Spotlight: Mr Adam Storey
While Mr Adam Storey is known around Camden High School for his work in the Timber and Industrial Technology classrooms, outside school he has built an impressive football career with the Camden Cats.
Adam has been a long-standing member of the Camden Cats, featuring prominently across the club’s senior grades and being part of the inaugural Camden Cats Premier Division team. His versatility and toughness have seen him become a valued contributor through the midfield, with his ability to win the ball, drive forward and hit the scoreboard making him a dangerous opponent.
His performances have regularly attracted attention. In 2017, Adam was named among Camden’s best players against Sydney University, while in 2019 he produced a standout performance against the Inner West Magpies, dominating through the midfield, delivering numerous inside-50s and launching a remarkable 70-metre goal. More recently, footage from 2025 captured Adam slotting a long-range bomb against the Pennant Hills Demons.
In 2026, Adam celebrated the significant milestone of 150 games for the Camden Cats - a testament to his longevity, commitment and contribution to the club.
