Message from Principal Sarah
From Sarah Nightingale, Principal
It’s been a busy few weeks at the school with plenty happening. A number of activities and events have taken place, and there is still a lot coming up before the end of term.
Well done to all students in Year 3 and 5 who recently completed NAPLAN! The effort and focus we saw throughout the testing period was commendable. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our NAPLAN Coordinator, Phil, and the Year 3 and 5 teaching and support staff for their coordination and supervision of the students during the week.
This week our Year 3 to Year 6 students are participating in the ySafe Cyber Safety Education sessions at our Molesworth Street Campus. These sessions build on the strong foundations from last year’s program and aim to support students to navigate the ever-changing digital landscape with confidence. From all reports, the sessions have been very positive and have been the catalyst for lots of conversations. Thank you to Shaun, our Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader, for organising these sessions.
Some events to look forward to over the next two weeks include Harmony Week (this week), Eid al-Fitr (Friday 20th March), and the Year 3-6 Cross Country and our School Community Picnic (both held on Friday 27th March). Please keep an eye out for information on these activities/events via Compass.
AEU Stop Work Action – Tuesday 24 March 2026
You may have heard over the weekend, and seen the Compass post on Monday, that on Tuesday 24 March 2026, Australian Education Union members will participate in a statewide 24-hour stop work.
Members of our leadership, teaching, and education support staff will participating in this action and consequently we will not be able to run a full program as normal for all our students.
We will provide a list of classes affected by the stop work as soon as possible, however in the meantime we ask that parents consider alternative arrangements in the case that your child is not required to attend school on Tuesday 24th March 2026.
We thank you for your patience and understanding.
