Premier's Reading Challenge

Welcome to the 2026 school year. It’s time to start your reading adventure with the Premier’s Reading Challenge which begins next Monday, the 2nd of March.

The Premier’s Reading Challenge is open to all students at HEPS and simply involves you recording the title and author of the books your child reads between Monday 02/03/26 and Thursday 03/09/26.

During this six-month period students have to read a selection of books from the PRC list as follows:

Foundation-2Read 30 books, 20 of which must be from the list
3-6Read 15 books, 10 of which must be from the list

Reading lists are available in the library and children will be taught to choose a book appropriate for their level using the library colour coding system.

I would like to encourage all students to participate in this challenge. I am sure you will agree that with our homework policy of reading four times per week, completing this challenge should be fairly easy.

Children will receive their login code in the very near future, and instructions on adding books to the site will be posted regularly in the newsletter.

I will be coordinating this event and will be promoting it regularly. At the conclusion of the event I will verify student books, order and distribute the certificates.

If you have any questions about the event, please contact me. My classroom is in the Villa and I am usually available before school starts between 8.30 and 8.50am.
