Looking ahead, the Year 11 Leadership Camp is coming around very quickly and there is definitely a lot of excitement building amongst the cohort. Over the next few weeks, we will be finalising payments before we head off to Emu Gully Adventure Education Centre for what is always one of the highlights of Year 11.
The camp gives students the opportunity to challenge themselves, step outside their comfort zones and build stronger connections with each other. Across the three days, students will take part in a range of leadership and teamwork activities inspired by important moments in Australian military history, including the Kokoda Track, Tunnel Rats of Vietnam and Escape from Colditz. While the activities are always a lot of fun, they also push students to develop resilience, communication, problem-solving and leadership skills in a really practical way. We are very excited to see our students take on the challenge and continue to grow as a cohort.
As we move further into the year, this is also a timely reminder for our senior students and families about eligibility requirements for major senior events, including Formal and the Senior Trip. Students are reminded that attendance, effort, behaviour and assessment completion all play an important role in maintaining eligibility. We know that sometimes students can hit a rough patch during the year, so now is a great time for anyone needing to improve attendance or catch up on work to refocus before these events get closer. If families have any concerns or would like support, please don’t hesitate to reach out so we can work together to help students stay on track.
