Welcome to our Newest Subject - Hospitality Practices

This is an Applied subject. Applied subjects are designed for students interested in vocational education and training pathways, focussing on practical skills and real-world applications. The students are working on Unit B – Bar & Barista Basics. In this unit, students explore the hospitality industry through the context of bar and barista basics, including beverage and food production and service. They interpret briefs using practices, skills and processes to an industry standard. Students evaluate and adapt production plans, techniques and procedures with the knowledge that the quality of products depends on customer expectations of value, which affects industry processes.

This semester’s brief is as follows:

The Hospitality class has been invited to design and present a signature Seussical-themed mocktail for the upcoming Seussical Jr. school musical. This assessment provides you with an authentic opportunity to demonstrate bar and beverage preparation skills while contributing to a major school community event.

Explore current beverage trends, analyse the needs of the musical audience, and create a visually appealing, flavour-balanced mocktail that reflects the imaginative, colourful world of Dr. Seuss.

We are hoping to serve you our delicious creations when you attend the Musical!
