Uniforms

As the weather gets cooler, the uniforms in the school sometimes get a little less tidy, the school has a policy and a commitment to have all students in uniform every day. The school does this by supporting students and families when the price of uniforms are prohibitive and by informing parents when students are out of uniform which is often without the parents knowledge.

If your child needs to be out of uniform, we ask that a text is sent to the office as early as possible or a note is sent with the student so that the student can visit the Admin office before the first bell and get a Uniform pass for the day. If this is done and parent contact has been made the student escapes any consequence for being out of uniform.

If a student is out of uniform and does not get a Uniform pass before the first bell or does not have a note or text from home, then the student will in most weeks be issued with a detention. This detention can last for 30 seconds or up to 10 minutes. A conversation is held with the student around why they are out of uniform and what the student will do to ensure they are in uniform in future.

Failure to attend this detention on multiple occasions can result in an after-school detention, although this is very rare with students given multiple chances to speak to Head of Student Services about their uniform.

Events in the School

Term 2 is a jam-packed Term for events with Open Nights, Work Experience, Sports Carnivals, Rewards trips and other excursions each and every week. It is important students return notes for these trips as soon as possible so they can be properly staffed and organised. Not bringing notes back on time can result in missing an excursion.

Laptops and Damage

We kindly remind parents and guardians that if a student's school laptop is damaged (especially if another student may be involved) it’s important that the incident is reported to the school as soon as possible.

Prompt reporting helps us investigate effectively and ensures that any financial responsibility for the damage can be properly assigned. Unfortunately, if damage is reported a week, or in some cases a month after it occurs, it becomes very difficult to determine who was responsible. In these cases, the cost may fall to the student the device was assigned to, even if they weren’t at fault.

Please report any damage as soon as possible.
