Ciao! 

Foundation students are learning the parts of the body through the story of Pinocchio and a fun song about Geppetto. Many students are also discovering Pinocchio, one of the most famous characters in Italian literature. Along the way, we are reviewing previously learned vocabulary, including colours and animals, through engaging stories and classroom activities. 

Grade 1 and 2 students are exploring one of Italy's most important cultural topics: Italian food! We introduced this topic last year, but thanks to the students' growing confidence in Italian, we are now exploring it in greater depth. Students will learn more about traditional Italian food, compare it with Australian cuisine, and further develop their cultural understanding. 

Grade 3 and 4 students have been reviewing the rules for masculine and feminine nouns in Italian. Building on this knowledge, they are now learning how to use singular and plural nouns correctly. Along the way, they will expand their vocabulary and practise their speaking skills through fun role-play activities. 

Grade 5 and 6 students are learning how to ask questions in Italian. They already know how to use several common questions in everyday conversations, and now they are learning how to create their own questions using Italian question words (WH words). This will help them become more independent and confident when communicating in Italian.
