Grade 1 News

We have had a wonderful couple of weeks in Grade 1!

It has been lovely to see students continuing to settle into their learning and embrace all the exciting activities happening in our classroom.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our Grade 1 Liturgy last week. It was a beautiful celebration, and we were incredibly proud of the way our students participated. They were reverent, respectful and spoke so confidently and clearly. Well done, Grade 1!

In Writing, students have been enjoying learning about letter writing. After reading the delightful picture book Little Dog and the Summer Holidays, students were inspired to write their own postcards from places they have travelled to. It has been wonderful hearing about their adventures and seeing their creativity shine through their writing.

In Maths, we have been practising our skip-counting strategies. Students have been enjoying a range of hands-on games and activities to build their confidence and extend their mathematical thinking. We are having lots of fun while developing our number skills!

Students also enjoyed writing about what they are proud of after their first half of the year or 100+ days of Grade 1/ (We loved watching the Foundation students as they celebrating, so we thought we could too!)

Have a lovely week everyone,

Grade 1 Team
