Welcome to Week 4!

We have continued reading Tom Appleby: Convict Boy by Jackie French. As we explore the novel, students have been making connections to their understanding of the First Fleet. Alongside our reading, students have been developing their information report writing skills by researching and organising key facts about the First Fleet. It has been wonderful to see their reports coming together with accurate information, clear structure, and engaging writing.

In Mathematics, we have begun our unit on angles. Students have been learning to identify different types of angles and have practised using both semicircle and full-circle protractors to accurately measure and create angles. Developing confidence with these mathematical tools is an important skill that we will continue to build throughout the unit.

The Grade 5 Championship Cup has resumed with the return of the Matball Crown. It has been fantastic to see students back competing with enthusiasm and teamwork. We look forward to seeing more excellent sportsmanship, encouragement, and fair play as the competition continues.

The Year 5 Camp permission form will be sent home shortly via PAM.
