Grade 4 News

Welcome to Week 4!

The students are thoroughly enjoying our class novel, Storm Boy. They have been captivated by the story and are making thoughtful connections between the novel and our learning. As part of our writing focus students have been researching the Coorong and discovering why it is such a unique and important Australian environment. They are using their research to write information reports, developing their skills in gathering information, organising ideas and presenting facts clearly.

In Mathematics, we are learning about fractions. Students are identifying, comparing and representing fractions in a variety of ways as they build their understanding of this important concept. We are also exploring the relationship between fractions and division, helping students recognise that fractions can represent equal sharing and division in everyday situations.

In Religion, we have been learning about what it means to live like Jesus. Together, we have been exploring how Jesus showed love, kindness, compassion and forgiveness to others, and how we can follow His example in our own lives. Students have been reflecting on ways they can demonstrate these values at school, at home and within our wider community through their words and actions.

It has been pleasing to see the enthusiasm and effort the students are bringing to each lesson. Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to another exciting fortnight of learning together!
