Principal's news
Dear Parents
Following thirteen years of formal schooling, we had the opportunity last week to officially farewell our graduation students from the Class of 2023.
Our Graduation Assembly provided an opportunity for parents of our final year students to join staff and students from Prep to Year 12 as we reflected and celebrated this milestone. A highlight was our Prep students handing a flower to each one of our graduates, which has now formed part of our end of Year 12 tradition. Inspiring speeches were made by our Year 12 Captains and recognition of their VCE teachers were memorable components of this Assembly.
Our Graduation Dinner was preceded by a final Church Service at Sts. Anargiri Church where Father Stavros provided some meaningful life advice and provided each student with a sacred icon of our Saints Cosmas and Damian. The evening was full of emotion with students receiving their Graduation Certificate and each student was the recipient of some memorable words by their Home Group teachers. What was very evident on the night, was the strong connection not only within the cohort but between students and their teachers. The dance floor was full for the remainder of the evening with some lively Greek and International dancing.
Whilst we wish every student undertaking a scored assessment success in their forthcoming final VCE Examinations, I am confident that each and every one of them are well prepared to embrace life after the gates of Oakleigh Grammar and contribute to society in a meaningful and positive way.
Alumni Academic Hall of Fame
A new initiative will be introduced next year which will be an Academic Hall of Fame for our Alumni. We are currently finalising criteria to ensure our Alumni recognised are the most worthy recipients of this honour. I commend Mr Vic Rajah (current parent) who is assisting with this project.
Cafeteria
Due to some unexpected construction challenges, it is likely our new Cafeteria will not be commissioned until the commencement of the 2024 school year. Our current canteen will continue to operate until then.
Art Show
Excitement is building for our annual art exhibition which will be held on Thursday 9 November with the formalities starting at 6pm in the NP Nikolakakis Centre for Academic Excellence. We look forward to an enjoyable evening celebrating our students’ art work.
Awards Night
As part of our School’s fortieth anniversary celebrations, our end of year student recognition in academia for Years 3 to 11 will be held at the Robert Blackwood Hall, Monash University on Wednesday 22 November commencing at 7.00pm. We look forward to recognising all students whose effort is being rewarded at this important event.
The Annual Report from last year has been posted on our School’s website under the “About Us” tab, located within the “Publications” tab.

GLENDI
The Greek Orthodox Community of Oakleigh and District and Oakleigh Grammar are delighted to host for the first time in four years the exciting multi-cultural festival which will run over two days Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 November at Warrawee Park, Drummond Street, Oakleigh. On both days, the festival kicks off at 12.00pm with formalities occurring at 12.00pm on Sunday. A large variety of stalls, rides and fun activities for families will ensure this festival’s success. We anticipate thousands of people to attend over this weekend and a highlight for school families will be our own student performances.
We thank all families for raffle ticket sales which will be drawn on Sunday afternoon.
