Principal's Message

Assalamualaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh.

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

Alhamdulillah, we are now well over halfway through Term 3, and what an eventful term it has been full of exciting events, meaningful learning, and important milestones here at ICOM. I am delighted to take this opportunity to share and reflect on all that our students and families have been part of 

so far.

We began the term in high spirits with our much-loved World Cup Day! The day was filled with interactive activities, and it was wonderful to see our students dressed so colourfully in support of their teams and countries, bringing energy and excitement to the day. Beyond the fun, it served as a beautiful reminder of the value of sportsmanship, teamwork, and unity, qualities that resonate deeply with us as Muslims, as we are encouraged to work together with compassion and respect 

for one another.

Our Primary school was abuzz with excitement for Arabic Week, a wonderful celebration of the beautiful Arabic language. It was pleasing to see our Primary students engage so enthusiastically in the Calligraphy workshops, create posters to deepen their understanding of the language, and take part in a week filled to the brim with Arabic-themed activities and friendly competition. Subhanallah, it was heartwarming to witness such genuine appreciation for a language that holds immense significance for us as Muslims. Understanding Arabic allows us to connect more deeply with our faith, most importantly through the Holy Quran, which makes its learning both a spiritual and meaningful pursuit for our students.

It was also a delight to experience the Careers Expo & Year 10 Information night alongside our Secondary students. It was an informative event which opened students' eyes to the many possibilities their education can lead them towards. Opportunities such as these are important in helping our students envision their futures, and Insha Allah this continues to be an event from which they gain valuable insight and guidance, empowering them to make well-informed decisions for the paths ahead.

The beginning of this term also brought an important milestone for our youngest learners. Subhanallah, our Foundation students' 100th Day of School was an absolute success, and how quickly the time has flown! It was adorable to see our beloved Foundation students dress up for the occasion and reflect on just how much they have grown and achieved since their very first day of school.

I am also delighted to acknowledge the wonderful participation of our students in this year's annual Quran Competition. It was an incredible reflection of the discipline, dedication, and hard work our students here at ICOM continue to demonstrate in their connection to the Holy Quran. A huge well done to all the students who participated, from Foundation all the way through to Year 12. The efforts are truly commendable, and we pray Allah (SWT) rewards you abundantly, Insha Allah.

Of course, our Secondary students also participated in many Interschool Sports excursions throughout this period which, Insha Allah, gave them plenty of memorable moments to look back on. It was wonderful to see our students represent ICOM with pride, sportsmanship, and determination, competing alongside and against other schools in a spirit of friendly competition. Opportunities such as these are so valuable, building confidence, resilience, and lifelong friendships. I am incredibly proud of the way our students carried themselves both on and off the field, and we commend them for representing our ICOM so admirably.

Alhamdullilah, our Year 5 and Year 9 students have both enjoyed their respective school camps, with our Year 9 students returning this week. Insha Allah, these camps offered our students a valuable opportunity to build independence, strengthen friendships, and take part in a rich variety of learning experiences and activities beyond the classroom. These are memories we hope they will treasure for many years to come,

Overall, it has been a very busy and productive start to the term, and I am so proud and pleased to see the effort and enthusiasm demonstrated by the entire ICOM community. As we look ahead to the remainder of Term 3, with our Quran Awards Night, Sunnah to Smile Week, and STEM Week still to come, I have no doubt that our students will continue to grow, thrive, and embrace every opportunity with the same dedication and spirit that have defined this term so far, Insha Allah.
