Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund, (CSEF)

School camps provide children with inspiring experiences in the great outdoors. Excursions encourage a deeper understanding of how the world works while sports teach teamwork, discipline and leadership. All are a part of a healthy curriculum.

CSEF is provided by the Victorian Government to assist eligible families to cover the costs of school excursions, camps and sporting activities.

If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or support an out of home care student, you may be eligible for CSEF. A special consideration category also exists for asylum seeker and refugee families. The allowance is paid directly to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions or sporting activities for the benefit of your child.

The annual CSEF amount per student is $400 for all school students.

How Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund is used

The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) provides payments for eligible students to attend activities like:

  • school camps or trips
  • swimming and school-organised sport programs
  • outdoor education programs
  • excursions and incursions
  • graduations.

Families holding a valid means-tested concession card or temporary foster parents are eligible to apply. A special consideration category also exists. Schools must receive applications from families by 26th June 2026.

Payment amounts

Payments for 2026 are:

  • $400 per year for eligible primary school students

Payments are made directly to the school:

  • from March onwards each year where the parent/carer’s concession card is assessed as valid on the first day of Term 1 and
  • until 26th June where the parent/carer’s concession card is assessed as valid on the first day of Term 2.

Payments are for the application year and cannot be claimed for previous years.

Application Process

If your child received CSEF in 2025, there is no need to re-apply, your application will be rolled over.  If your family has a new sibling or your child is a new enrolment at HEPS in 2026 then a new application will be required.

Application forms are available from the office or below.  Please submit with a copy of your concession card.

State Schools Relief

Applications are now open for incoming Prep and Year 7 students who qualify for CSEF funding, once their school submits an application for welfare support. Where a uniform can’t be supplied directly, students receive a voucher – redeemable at the school uniform supplier – that subsidises the cost of their uniform.
