On the 23rd of November the Heathmont Sports Academy had its night of nights recognising some of its brightest young stars in 2023.
Chris Anstey former NBA player & 2-time Basketball Olympian and Massimo D’Ambrosio, the up & coming young AFL star from the Hawthorn Football Club and were on hand as guest speakers.
Both spoke exceptionally well, mingling with the Academy players all night and answering countless questions from the intrigued and captivated audience that was on hand to listen about their sporting journeys.
Heat award winners on the night for Most Outstanding Commitment and Effort to their chosen sport were Fern Hamilton & Jesse Coney.
We also honoured members who achieved outstanding results in their chosen field.
Jude Sheen for Basketball - Jude was selected in the Basketball Victoria East Coast Challenge Select State Team.
Bianca Devries for Athletics – Bianca competed in the School Sports Victoria State Athletics finals where she took home a Silver Medal for the Javelin.
Marley Aveling for AFL – Marley was offered a Summer list spot at the Eastern Ranges in the State League Pathway (Coates Talent League).
