Every lesson counts

Attendance isn’t only about being at school for the day. Being present in every lesson matters. When a student misses class time, including truancy (an unexplained absence from a scheduled lesson), they miss key teaching, feedback, and the opportunity to learn alongside peers. Even small gaps can quickly add up.

Our shared approach: early, calm, supportive follow-up

Our school approach is simple: early identification, timely follow-up, and respectful support. When attendance concerns arise, we follow our school attendance procedures and work in partnership with families to understand what’s happening and to help students re-engage. We keep it positive, calm, consistent, and focused on supporting students back into learning.

How families can help

Families can support strong attendance by encouraging punctuality and daily attendance, notifying the school promptly if your child is away, and providing a note or medical certificate where required. If there are barriers to attendance such as health, wellbeing, learning needs, or other circumstances, please contact the school early so we can work together on supports.
