Year 7 Students Launch their Science Journey through Hands-On Experiments
Our Year 7 students have made an enthusiastic start to Science this term, engaging in a range of hands-on experiments designed to promote curiosity and build confidence. From their first lessons, students have been learning how to work safely in the laboratory while developing essential scientific skills such as observing, measuring, predicting and working collaboratively.
Rather than simply reading about science, students are actively exploring concepts through practical investigations. These activities address outcomes encouraging students to question, conduct investigations, collect, and interpret data and draw evidence based conclusions. These early experiences lay the foundation for critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork.
We look forward to continuing to nurture inquisitiveness and scientific understanding as the Year 7 cohort progresses through their learning this year. We encourage families to engage in conversations at home about the experiments and investigations students are undertaking, reinforcing the connection between scientific learning and the wider world.
