Social Science

We are very pleased to welcome two new members of staff this year.  Mr Thompson, who is teaching Economics, Commerce and Geography and Ms Baird who is teaching Geography and Commerce. Thank you to all the students who have made them feel welcome. They have made an excellent addition to the Social Science team.

Are you interested in the sharemarket? Mr Kinsky will be once again facilitating the ASC School's Sharemarket Game. Students studying Commerce, ask your teacher for more information about the game. For students who have a keen interest in investing, business and the economy and you would like to participate, come and see Mr Kinsky in the Social Science staffroom. Trading begins on March 12.

Year 8 Geography students have an upcoming excursion to Gibberagong Environmental Education Centre to participate in fieldwork including measuring temperature, soil pH and a range of other mapping skills. This is a great excursion for students to explore the natural environment and the impacts of human activity on the coastal landscape. Information has been emailed to all parents/carers of year 8 boys and we look forward to a great day of learning and fieldwork!
