Parent's Association Thank You

Last year, we were fortunate enough to receive a grant from the MGC Parents’ Association for the purchase of a class set of Polar Heart Rate Monitors. Purchased for the use of the VCE Physical Education classes, they have already enhanced the learning experience and engagement levels of our students.

In the most recent topics, Energy Systems and the Acute Responses to Exercise, our students were able to track their heart rate and intensity levels in real time, and then download them for analysis.

While increasing engagement is a great benefit, the real benefit of these monitors and the accompanying software is the ease with which primary data can be collected for our SACs. Altogether, this has been a massive win for the Senior PE teachers.

I would like to use this opportunity to thank the MGC Parents’ Association for all of their fundraising work, which has ultimately allowed us to make this purchase through their grants program.
