VCE Drama

Bees, butterflies, gold, dirt and paper inspired the 2026 VCE Drama ensembles. These ideas shaped five compelling performances, developed through contemporary drama practices and informed by the work of theatre practitioners Bertolt Brecht’s Epic Theatre, Jerzy Grotowski’s Poor Theatre and Antonin Artaud’s Theatre of Cruelty.

Dance Night

Semester One of the MGC Extra-Curricular dance program wraps up this week, culminating in a showcase evening across two concerts. Dance Night is an opportunity for all MGC dancers to perform for their family and friends, displaying their talent and hard work.

The MGC Extra-Curricular dance program continues to thrive with a record 172 dancers enrolled across Year 7 to Year 10. Students participate in weekly classes, learning choreographed routines created by our talented Dance teachers. Classes run for an hour before or after school and the dance styles are Commercial Jazz, Contemporary and Acrobatics.

In just 10 weeks these students learn and clean their routines, working hard and building connections. They work as a team, support and encourage each other and are always excited when it is ‘Show and Tell’ day. This is an opportunity to watch the other classes and see how they are progressing.

MGC offers a unique and accessible program for dancers of all skill levels and what is most exciting is seeing the passion and talent that we have coming up through our junior school. I cannot wait for Dance Night and look forward to Semester Two.
