Performing Arts

This Term we have been busy learning the eukelele in year 3 to 6, practising and learning         " You are my Sunshine" and "Somewhere over the rainbow"

 In Prep  to year 2 we have continued using scarves and ribbons to the beat and rhythm.

All students have been learning " We are Australian" the Indigenous version.

A huge thank you to the students, Zhen Zhen, Alice, Sophia, Jasmine, Isabella, Shermaine, Hana, Camille, in 5B who made a theatre puppet show for the junior school students to use in Term 4. 

Drama

A huge thank you to Professor John Thangarajah and Ms Jillian Ang for their time and dedication in rehearsing, planning, setting up and performing the drama production "Gold Gold Gold" with the level 5 students.  

Main Cast- Julia, Jasmine, Benita, Amin, Audrey, Austin, Wooju, Varvara, Barad, Clara, Alicia, Sharleez. 

Supporting actors- Sofia, Hana, Camille, Diana, Sarafina, Alessia, Svetha, Bella

The students have given up their lunchtimes to practise and rehearse. The actors have thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. It was truly wonderful to see students flourish and develop in drama through building their confidence in performing in front of an audience. Well done Level 5 students!

Choir/Dance/Band

The Choir/Dance/Band students visited Doncaster kindergarden last Friday during lunchtime.  The kindergarden students enjoyed the bigger kids live singing performance and look forward to coming to big school next year!

Term 4 in Performing Arts

Next term the whole school will be focusing on drama. 

Junior school will be focusing on puppets and reenacting classic fairy tales and senior school will be writing their own scripts and performing in front of their classes.

Dance Curriculum whole school

DPS students thoroughly enjoyed learning a dance routine with their year level last year. We look foward to Omar and Dean from Dance Curriculum returning to our school the first two weeks in Term 4 to teach our students new dance routines. A performance on Friday the second week of term 4 will take place (October 16th). We will be inviting parents to come along and admire thier children. Please note this is a free whole school event supported by DPS.
