Level One

Brickworks Incursion 

As part of our theme unit “Our Community, Our Country,” Level 1 students participated in a 90-minute hands-on Brickworks construction experience. Students explored creativity, construction and STEM through a range of exciting building challenges. Working individually and collaboratively, they used imagination, problem-solving and teamwork to design and create unique structures while discovering how communities are built, connected and shaped by the people within them.

Book Week

Level 1 students loved celebrating Book Week! Throughout the week, students enjoyed exploring a range of wonderful books and sharing their favourite stories. One of our highlights was reading Beyond the Shore, which inspired students to create a creative collage of an underwater world as a response to the text. 

Mathematics 

This term, Level 1 stud

ents have been learning to add and subtract money, explore location and directions, and make equal groups and share. Students have enjoyed developing these skills through practical and engaging activities.

Literacy 

This term, Level 1 students have been learning to write engaging narratives by analysing sophisticated language used in quality texts. Students have explored how authors use descriptive words, interesting vocabulary and language choices to bring stories and characters to life.
