Junior School  Report

Jocelyn Gepp

What a fantastic start we have had to Term 3 in the Junior School! Our Year 7–9 students have settled back into routines with enthusiasm and positivity. It has been great to see our school values of Respect, Determination and Excellence being demonstrated consistently in classrooms, in the yard, and during extra-curricular activities.

We were proud to celebrate and acknowledge students who achieved 100% attendance  for Term 2 at our recent Junior School Assembly. Consistent attendance plays a huge role in student learning, and we thank families for supporting this.

Our Year 7 and 8 students participated in the Backflips Against Bullying program this week. This engaging and impactful presentation used acrobatics and humour to deliver an important message about kindness, inclusion and standing up against bullying. The students were attentive, respectful, and walked away with valuable lessons.

We have also continued the YMCA Beyond Boxing program this term for a group of our Year 7 and 8 boys, focusing on building confidence, discipline and teamwork. We've had a successful first week of the program and are looking forward to seeing the ongoing benefits for our students.

Some of our Year 9 students have taken part inMorrisby Interviews this week. These sessions are a key part of our career education program, helping students begin to consider their future pathways and interests.

A big congratulations to the students who proudly represented Woodmans Hill Secondary College at inter-school basketball. They displayed excellent sportsmanship and teamwork—well done to all involved!

Don’t forget—our Junior School Social is happening next week. This is a fun and exciting event where students can relax, have fun, and enjoy time together outside the classroom. We can’t wait to see everyone there.

A big thank you to all our students and families for contributing to such a great start to Term 3. We’re excited for all that’s still ahead!
