Year 11 Report

Patricia Fox

Welcome Back!

I hope all our Year 11 students were able to rest and recharge over the school holiday break. Term 3 is always a busy and important one, and I’m excited to see what we’ll achieve together in the coming weeks. Let’s stay focused, support one another, and make the most of every opportunity that comes our way!

A Great Start to Term 3

Walking around the school and chatting with teachers, it’s clear that our Year 11 students have made a strong and focused start to the term. It’s great to see them settling back into routines and continuing to work hard toward their goals.

If you haven’t already, please take a moment to review your child’s Semester 1 Report, which was published on the final day of Term 2. These reports offer valuable insights into their progress and can be a great starting point for conversations about learning goals for the term ahead. If you have any concerns please reach out to either myself or to your students homegroup teacher to discuss.

Year 11 VCE:VM Work Related Skills Excursion - by Luke Caldwell

Our VCE Vocational Major (VM) students recently visited Little Hampton Farm for a hands-on look at industry and work ethic in action. The excursion gave students the chance to see how teamwork, reliability, and time management play a key role in running a successful farm.

The students were tasked with replanting blueberry bushes to a new location. This was followed up with student creating their own handmade pizza and café style coffees and hot chocolates. Throughout the day students spoke with farm employees about the values needed in the workplace with some students keen to return in their own time. The experience helped connect classroom learning with real-world applications, leaving students inspired and more informed about future career pathways

"The students were amazing and followed instructions, successfully planting most of the blueberry plants in their new space. The pizza was definitely a highlight! Isabelle and Mackenzie took charge of the coffee machine, making coffee and hot chocolate for the group, and Beth was a great help to Simon with rolling out the pizza dough".
