Fundraising Committee – Parent Volunteers Wanted!
We are excited to share that we are establishing a new Fundraising Committee and are seeking enthusiastic parent volunteers to join us. This committee will help us take a more coordinated and strategic approach to raising funds that directly benefit our students—whether that’s through additional resources, enriching programs, or creating new opportunities and experiences that go above and beyond the classroom.
The time commitment is minimal but impactful—just two one-hour meetings per term. We hope to gather a group of parents who are keen to contribute ideas, help coordinate events, and support our school community in a very practical and rewarding way. If you’ve ever wanted to get involved but were unsure how, this is a great way to make a real difference. If you’re interested, please email your interest to woodmans.hill.sc@education.vic.gov.au , and we’ll be in touch early next term with meeting dates and more information.
One of the first projects I would love to see supported by this group is the establishment of a new, secure bike and scooter shelter. With more students choosing to ride to school, it’s important that we provide a lockable and safe space for bikes and scooters to be stored during the day. This would be a great addition to our school grounds and encourage active transport for our students.
Building Works – Visible Progress!
It’s been a busy and exciting few weeks on the building front, and we’re pleased to share some key updates. The Year 7 Centre has taken its first major steps with the concrete slab now poured and retaining walls in place. It's fantastic to see the project ‘out of the ground’—a milestone our architects often refer to as a turning point in construction. We’re looking forward to watching the building truly take shape in the weeks ahead.
Over in the Senior Centre, demolition works are underway with the old toilets removed and construction already beginning on the new facilities. While these kinds of works can feel disruptive in the short term, they are a vital part of modernising and improving our learning environment for all students.
Thank you to our students and staff for your patience and flexibility during this phase. The end results will be well worth it, and we are excited to keep you updated on the transformation as it continues.
