Celebrating with Year 12 students
Last week our International Students were given an opportunity to receive a presentation on Pelvic Pain, conditions that can affect women, or those that have been assigned female at birth. There are many symptoms of this condition, and women can suffer without knowing what the cause of their discomfort is. It is also important that men, or people who have been assigned male at birth understand issues such as endometriosis and menstruation. The presentation that we had at our school was facilitated through the Pelvic Pain Foundation of Australia. The PPFA focuses on the high incidence of pelvic pain in certain cultures, such as Asian , Indigenous and Muslim.
A special guest, Ged Kearney, the Federal Member of Parliament for Cooper, also attended and shared a few words before the talk began. She is very supportive of the Foundation and keen to increase the participation in all Government schools.
Last week, ISP celebrated two students turning 18 with a birthday party for Year 12 students, before their last day of schooling. The catch up provided everyone with a wonderful opportunity to enjoy time together.
