Exciting insights into the gaming industry at PAX

As part of the student excellence program, our Gamers’ club members were very fortunate to attend the PAX on Friday 11 October. PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) is one of the major cultural events around the media, technology and gaming industries. We had the opportunity to meet and chat with various game developers/ designers and experienced the up-and-coming games. Some highlights were; the speech from the head of Massive Monsters about making his first game The Cult of the Lamb, the speed running events of Hollow Knight and Celeste, the retro arcade event where games of the 90s and early 2000s were showcased on their original consoles and pcs, the Guitar Hero band concerts and all the wonderful cosplays we had the privilege of seeing! Some of the cosplays even included some of our own students!

We all left the event feeling inspired and excited about things to come in the gaming industry and exploring new ways to design games.
