Dandenong High School Celebrates 30th Year at Ski Camp

Dandenong High School recently marked a significant milestone as we celebrated 30th year of hosting ski camp at Mount Hotham. A total of 41 students from grades 7 to 12 had the opportunity to spend a week on the slopes, honing their snowboarding and skiing skills.

The annual ski camp is not just about hitting the slopes, but also about fostering personal growth and development. Students were able to make new friends, create lifelong memories, and develop important personal skills such as leadership and resilience. The experience also provided an opportunity for students to improve their social skills and build stronger relationships with their peers.

The camp has had over 1200 students attend the camp over the past 30 years, many now who attended having their own children now attend the camp themselves.  The ski camp allows students to step out of their comfort zone and challenge themselves in a new environment. It is a fantastic opportunity for them to develop skills that will benefit them both academically and personally.

The ski camp has become a much-loved tradition at Dandenong High School, with many students eagerly anticipating the trip each year. As the school continues to prioritise outdoor education and experiential learning, the ski camp remains a highlight on the calendar for both students and staff.

Overall, the 30th year of the ski camp was a resounding success, with students returning to school with a newfound sense of confidence and accomplishment. Dandenong High School looks forward to many more years of providing students with the opportunity to hit the slopes and grow both personally and socially.
