LRC News
This term, we have had a visiting artist Josephine Mead come into the LRC to work with several Year 9 students writing poetry. She currently has an exhibition titled ‘Matrimony’ at Walker Street gallery, which looks at marriage through a multicultural lens. Those students will have an opportunity to have their poetry published online through Josephine’s publishing platform Co-.
For Halloween, we had a spooky display of horror and crime novels. We also had lolly giveaways, trivia, dress ups and we showed something spooky on the big screen on Thursday 31st October at lunch time.
In November, we look forward to graphic artist Mandy Ord coming in to run drawing workshops with junior students. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from a published author about her career path and her best tips for success when creating.
Lastly, we say goodbye to some wonderful Year 12 Teen Learning Advisors who have contributed greatly over the years in the LRC, they are: Noora M, Jay G, Max C and Ruxandra B. We thank you for all the help you have given the library staff, your participation in our events and your friendly smiles and positivity.
