A Wonderful Community Effort: Working Bee Success

On Sunday 22 March, our kindergarten community came together for a hugely successful Working Bee, with an incredible 24 out of our 25 services holding working bees on the day. It was wonderful to see so many families, educators, and community members generously giving their time, energy, and skills to support our kindergartens.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to all the families who were able to attend and contribute. Whether it was gardening, cleaning, maintenance, or general tidying, every effort big or small -made a meaningful difference. The pride and care shown for our learning environments was truly inspiring.

A special thank you also goes to our educators, many of whom attended their service working bees to support families and help make the day run smoothly. Your commitment, even outside of regular hours, demonstrates the strong partnerships that make our kindergarten communities thrive.

Why Working Bees Matter

Working bees play a vital role in our kindergartens. They help to:

• Create safe, welcoming, and engaging environments for children
• Support sustainability and care for our outdoor spaces
• Strengthen connections between families, educators, and services
• Model the value of community contribution and teamwork for our children

Most importantly, working bees show children that their kindergarten is a shared space - one that is cared for by a whole community working together.

Looking Ahead – Term 2 Working Bee

Let’s make the next Working Bee just as successful! Our Term 2 Working Bee will be held on Sunday 31st May, from 9:30am to 12:00pm, please mark this date in your calendars.

There will be another sign‑up sheet available at each service, and we encourage families who are able to join us to get involved. Working bees are also a great opportunity to meet other families, strengthen connections within your service, and be part of a positive community experience.

Children are welcome to attend, making it a lovely way for them to see families and educators working together to care for their kindergarten environment.
