Building Community

Enhancing connections across the school

There are so many things happening in our community everyday. Over recent weeks there have been some notable events including the Year 12 Students versus Staff Basketball game, Wear it Purple Day and Pyjama Day.

Wear it Purple Day occurred on Friday 25th of August. The Wellbeing team encouraged all students and staff to wear a touch of purple to school and invited students and staff to join them in the Wellbeing Centre at lunch time to celebrate diversity and young people from the LGBTIQA+ community. Many students and staff came along to the celebrations with a touch of purple, took a selfie and pledged to make Healesville High School an inclusive school.

On Friday 1st of September, Healesville High School ran Pyjama Day. Students got involved by contributing a gold coin donation to wear pyjamas to school and by purchasing a sausage from the Student Voice Council (SVC). The SVC earned over $300 which will be donated to HICCI and the Rotary Club. The Year 11 Business Management class also donated some of their profits from across the year making the overall money raised just over $700.

On the 8th of September over to supported the Year 12 students as they took on the staff at basketball during lunchtime. The teachers finally banked a victory over the Year 12 students, scoring 31 - 7. Mr David Kennedy and Mr Daniel Glenn proved too strong and have left the students eager for the final opportunity to steal a victory in Term 4.

Well done to all students and staff who facilitated and contributed to these community events.
