Legends Band Performs at Victorian School Music Festival: 

On Friday 25th August the Legends Band travelled to Hawthorn Arts Centre where they performed in the Victorian School Music Festival (VSMF). They performed in the Junior Concert Band section and over the course of the festival there were 65 bands performing in the same section as us. On the day the band sat and listened to four other bands before heading to the warm up room to prepare for our performance. There were many nerves but they played brilliantly. Every single member of the band was focused and played their part to the best of their ability. The adjudicators were blown away by our performance and we were awarded the top award for our performance on the day, Platinum! This is a great achievement for all involved and something to which the younger students can aspire. Congratulations to all of the students and staff involved in this performance.  

On Tuesday 12th September the Rising Stars Band made up of our Year 7 and Year 8 Music students travelled to Mooroolbark College for a Music Workshop Day. On the day we combined our two school bands and workshopped three pieces of music. All the students from both schools worked really well together and helped each other out during the day. Everyone had a great day and their musical skills had improved by the end of the day. What a fabulous way to end the term!

Finally, just a reminder about our concert on Thursday 19th of October. We would love as many people as possible from our local community to come along and support our hard working students.
