Sports
Term three provided the opportunity to play basketball, hockey or table tennis.
We were excited to send three Intermediate (Year 9 and 10) teams to basketball, and three teams to table tennis. Our basketballers had lots of court time, enjoyment and lots of laughs. Our table tennis teams also had a great time and managed to finish 2nd on the day. Our Year 7 girls also managed to get involved in basketball, sending a team that showed great sportsmanship and significant improvement across the day.
The Yarra Division Athletics Carnival was also held in term three. Mr Mehra and Ms Godfrey supported 31 students to attend the carnival at Mt Evelyn Athletics Track.
On the day, Aemelia Stevenson and Riley Cameron were awarded Yarra Division Age Group Champions. Congratulations to both of these fantastic individuals!
Other event winners included Reece Smith and Paisley Stock. These students now have the chance to go to the Eastern Metropolitan
Regional finals in October, and we wish them all well. There were also many other great results, with Ava Black, Belle Watson, Liam Warner and Jack Collins all finishing 2nd in multiple events. In addition to the students that competed, we also sent along six students to support the running of the day, alongside SSV officials. All of these students were praised by numerous staff on the way they assisted throughout the day and the manners, friendliness and courtesy they displayed. Well done to everyone on their sporting involvement this term!
