What a fantastic term we have had at TRPS. Building works have been completed, we have had playground upgrades, welcomed new children and staff, and showcased learning through open mornings and afternoons. We thank you for your continued engagement and support of the school and your children.

2025 Planning

We have started the early stages of organising classes for 2025. If you are leaving the area and your child will not be attending Tarneit Rise Primary School next year, or if you plan on transferring your child to one of our neighbouring schools you are zoned to, please let the office know https://forms.gle/1c1YPewNVCG3R4UV9 so we can plan using accurate student numbers. If you have a prep child starting next year, these enrolments should have already been finalised but if not, please get these in as soon as possible.

Do you have a grade placement request for your child for 2025?

When making a grade placement request/s it is important you understand:

it is not to be assumed information provided to the school in the past in relation to class placement will be considered in this year’s discussions. Previous requests are not kept on record and need to be voiced, if necessary, when requested each year.
only valid reasons will be taken into consideration by the school in decision making following any ‘requests’ made by parents for the following year’s class placement. Parents / carers who present such reasons and translate these into ‘requests’ should do so on the understanding that the request will be listened to and discussed with the appropriate personnel, but not necessarily acted upon in the way requested.
placement of children in classes will be made considering the following, where relevant, for both the student and the cohort: class size, learning needs, gender mix, peer groups, sibling divisions, behavioural needs, special family circumstances, social or emotional needs, cohort dynamics, and teachers assigned to the year level (if known)

your child’s current grade and teacher
an explanation of your request

Grade placement requests are due by 3:45pm Thursday October 17th.

This process is designed to gather information in order to create a positive learning environment for all students. It is not a process for self-selection of classmates or teachers. Thank you for your continued support of this complex process.

As we approach the school holidays, we encourage you and your children make the most of the break. Whether you’re staying home, traveling, or finding a balance between rest and enrichment, we’ve got you covered!

Fun and Engaging Activities The holidays are a perfect time for your children to explore new interests and enjoy some fun activities. Here are a few ideas:

Creative Projects: Encourage your child to work on a holiday-themed craft or DIY project.
Outdoor Adventures: Whether it’s a local park or a nature hike, spending time outside is always a great option. Spring is the perfect time to get out and about.
Reading Time: Visit your local library and let your child pick out books that pique their interest. Or head into the city to visit the State Library of Victoria.

Maintaining a Routine While it’s important to relax and have fun over the holidays, maintaining a loose routine can help ease the transition back to school. Consider setting aside some time each day for reading, educational games, or simple chores.

Preparing for the New School Term The holiday break is a great opportunity to prepare for the upcoming school term. Please remember school hates are required for terms four and one, so holidays are a good opportunity to find school hats and ensured all uniform is clearly labelled (in case they find their way to the lost property basket). Holidays are also a good time for any health and dental check-ups, so children don’t miss unnecessary school time.

Safety and Well-being Finally, ensure your child’s safety during the holidays by supervising their activities, especially if they’re spending time online. Encourage healthy habits and remind them of the importance of staying safe.

Australia is changing, and so are our blood types.

Did you know certain blood types are more common in certain parts of the world? About half of people living in Australia today were either born overseas, or have a parent born overseas. With the changes to our population come different blood types, and even some rare ones. A diverse population means we need diverse donors to help out (and you could be one).

Principal Award Winners

Congratulations to the principal award winners over the past two weeks.

Prep; Angad consistently displays the school values. He is kind and funny and gives all learning his best effort. He is a role model, and we feel so lucky to have him as part of our school community.

Grade 1; Harsirat loves school and loves spending time with her family and friends making memories. Harsirat was recognised for her role model behaviour and for ‘living’ our school values every day – inside and outside of the classroom. Harsirat takes pride in her schoolwork and always does her best, presenting work to a high standard. When she grows up, Harsirat wants to be a gymnast.

Grade 2; Harleen is a valued member of her grade and of our school. Harleen shows our school values very day and is a role model to others. She is always prepared for learning and takes on board feedback to grow and improve. Harleen shows kindness to others and when she grows up, she wants to be a scientist. Harleen loves STEM and learning about life cycles.

Mike was recognised for his amazing performing arts skills and attitude. Mike works hard and is a role model, showing our school values every day.

Grade 3; Jasleen was recognised for leading by example. Jasleen is kind and has a remarkable ability to noticing when people need help. Jasleen has a quite determination and persist even when things are challenging. Jasleen is a gentle leader and reminds us all that you can be humble and still have a big impact.

Grade 4; Mason is a kind and caring member of our school community, who shows our school values every single day. He is an enthusiastic learner and wants to be a zookeeper when he grows up.

Pranavi has had an excellent semester of learning. Pranavi is an inquisitive and curious learner and shows initiative. Pranavi is a positive person and has a positive effect on all those around her.

Grade 5; Yuvi has had an excellent semester of learning! He is a very hard-working student with a positive attitude who goes above and beyond expectations which shows in his growth as a learner. Yuvi treats all people with kindness and compassion and makes them feel seen and heard.

Grade 6; Vyana is a super star student and supe star athlete! Vyana works hard at everything she does and has a goal of one day being a surgeon. She has an inquisitive mind and shows resilience by maintaining a growth mindset. Vyana works to the highest of her ability. She is collaborative and caring, and we are very proud of her effort and achievement.

Nikshith – this is Nikshith’s second award in two weeks. Nik was awarded the Principal Award from the Specialist team for his exceptional dedication. Nik goes above and beyond by learning French in his own time and creating his own study material. Nikshith is dedicated to learning another language – he can speak three languages!
