Bonjour Parents and Students!
Just like that our final week of term 3 is here!
We continue to progress from last term, and we are so happy to learn and practice more French.
Prep students consolidated their knowledge of animals including pets and some farm animals, and they have made so much progress in naming animals in French this year. Quiz them to name the pets you have at home!
Grade 1 students learned about some classic French and Australian dishes. They wrote sentences about their favourite dish using both French and English. They also read the French Version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, while discussing the moral of the story and writing down the key words in the story.
Grade 2 students have spent the final two weeks doing revision as it is essential in retaining a new language in our brain. They played game and did worksheet on topics like numbers, school objects and body parts.
Grade 3 and 4 students learned some gestures/body language people use in France. They did their own research on gestures in different cultures where they gained a better understanding of the various cultures in the world. They continued to tap into culture, grade 3 students learned about 2 French poem and the backgrounds of the poem while grade 4 students learned different types of French bread.
Grade 5 and 6 students had a very fun end of the semester in French. They learned casual expressions/slangs French young generation use nowadays and included these expressions into their own cartoon. They also created a map for their imaginary school using new vocabulary.
