Debra Hanson Cup

🏐 Debra Hanson Cup - 15yrs & Under Netball 🏐

Our Junior Netball team had their turn today to show Macarthur Zone their skills, and that they did! We had some exemplary defence by Aliyah, Madeline, Sophie & Ella keeping our opposition on their toes, some brilliant shooting by Tatum, Ashleigh & Jaylah that frustrated the opposing defence and phenomenal support by Riley, Amelia &  Alexis in the centre court. Unfortunately for us, Elderslie's incredibly strong team finished first that day, but we are super proud of the courage, sportsmanship and resilience demonstrated by our girls in blue. (- Ms Palmer & Ms Arnold)

 Georgia Zannino

Georgia in Year12 won a Bronze medal in the woman’s 17-19 100mtr freestyle on the Gold Coast 🏊‍♀️ at the School Sport Australia NSW School Sport Unit NSW All Schools Championships.

Other Results:

  • 8th 50 Freestyle
  • 5th 200 Freestyle
  • 3rd 4x50 relay
  • 2nd 4x100 relay

Congratulations Georgia! You have represented the School with excellence during your time at Camden High School and we wish you all the best in your future endeavours. We might be cheering you on at the Olympics in 4 years time!

Athletics Wrap up 2024

It has been a highly successful Athletics season for Camden High School with our students obviously spurred on by the Olympic buzz in the air. Huge attendance, a sunny day and a mix of competitive and novelty events made for a fun day at our school carnival.

Our athletics specialists did not disappoint with records tumbling, some set as far as 50 years back.

Our Zone team did us proud displaying excellent sportsmanship, smashing PBs and placing 4th overall on the school leaderboard. It was Camden High School’s turn to run the carnival and we send an extra special shout out to members of our Student Leadership Team and Work Studies classes who volunteered to help run events at the carnival. The feedback from Athletics NSW officials on their maturity, initiative and helpfulness truly makes us proud.

Off to the SSW Regional Championships next to compete against schools from Picton to Fairfield including the likes of Westfields Sports High School, and again Camden High School athletes shone. Among the impressive efforts across track and field, Camden athletes secured many PBs and walked away with our largest haul of placegetters ever at a SSW Carnival. We helped the Macarthur Zone team to a win in the Zones leaderboard (we placed second to Westfields last year), with Camden High placing an outstanding 6th place on the schools leaderboard.

We send Amelia S, Jaylah S, Andrew T, Tiarna G, Jack D, Josh M and Josh H off to the Combined High School State Championships at Homebush in September. You are amongst the best of the best in our state and we wish you an incredible experience and a successful championships.

Boys Knockout Hockey

Camden High School took on Lithgow High School during week 4 to see who would progress to the top 16 teams in the state. Although the weather was not ideal, the boys showed great commitment and determination throughout the entire game. Shout out to Adam and Marshall for scoring goals and giving the team a 3-1 win over Lithgow.

It was a great game with both teams demonstrating some nice hockey skills in attack and defence. Shout out to Jacob for keeping the ball out of the back of the net and Angus and Declan for stepping up as managers assisting Miss Hartas with the running of the team whilst she stepped in to umpire the match.

Round 1 – MVP – Jacob | Round 2 – MVP – Marshall | Top Goal Scorer – Adam

Open Girls Knockout Netball

In Week 2, our Opens Netball team competed in the CHS Finals at Illawarra Sport Centre. The girls were extremely excited to represent Camden High School as one of the top 16 school teams in the state! They were up against fierce competition, with 4 Sports high Schools in attendance and some very strong schools from other NSW regions.  The team started off very strong with a convincing win over Inverell HS, although, unfortunately, just couldn’t get on top of the other schools in their pool. With a win and a draw on the first day, the girls went into Day 2 with a positive attitude and wanting to win. Only getting to play 2 games on the second day, our amazing Camden High girls finished off in 13th in the state, a HUGE achievement for a group of not only fantastic athletes but fantastic young women. Immediately after our last game, they already had one eye on the next training session and getting better before the 2025 knockout competition.

A big shoutout to the Year 11 girls who put together a training schedule in the lead up to the finals, Mr Rockwell again for taking the team as coach and working hard behind the scenes, Mr Brasington and Mr Lundy for driving the mini bus and to the parents that came down to support the girls on both days. Without all these key stakeholders, these girls would not have achieved what they did. Ready to go again in 2025!!!
