Around our School

A great new addition to our school!
Last Friday's Father’s Day celebration provided the perfect opportunity to unveil our new outdoor table tennis tables, proudly erected under the shade sails outside the Year 6 classrooms.
Adding to the excitement, father and son Damien and Sam Kennedy were the first to put the tables to the test! We’re sure their game will be the first of many great table tennis matches to come.
We'd like to extend our sincere thanks to Kennedy Real Estate for their generous donation. Together with the incredible support of our school community through this year’s Zooper Dooper fundraising campaign, their contribution helped us reach our target and make the purchase of the tables possible.
A huge thank you also to Owen Conway, who worked late into the night to assemble and erect the tables for us. We really appreciate your time and dedication!
Keep an eye out for our Term 4 Zooper Dooper sales, with proceeds going towards our next exciting fundraising project, which will be announced next term!
Thank you to everyone who continues to support our fundraising efforts. Your generosity makes a real difference!
A Special Visit from Our Federal Member!
What a wonderful opportunity for our Year 4, 5 and 6 students to welcome Sam Birrell, Federal Member for Nicholls, to our school!
Mr Birrell spent time with our students talking about democracy, how our Australian Parliament works, how laws are made, and the important roles of the House of Representatives and the Senate. He also shared what it means to be a local Federal Member and how issues affecting our regional communities can be raised in Canberra.
The highlight of the visit was certainly hearing from our students, who asked some fantastic, thoughtful and considered questions. It was wonderful to see their curiosity, confidence and genuine interest in how our country is governed.
Mr Birrell was very impressed with the excellent behaviour and maturity of our students — and we couldn't have been prouder of them!
Who knows... perhaps we have a few budding politicians in our midst!
Our Write a Book in a Day Adventure Comes to Life!
What an exciting moment it was when our students finally received their very own printed books from Write a Book in a Day! There were plenty of excited faces as they flicked through the finished copies and saw their incredible hard work come to life.
These books are so much more than a wonderful keepsake. They are a special reminder of a day filled with creativity, teamwork, laughter, persistence and some seriously impressive writing! Our students embraced the challenge and walked away with new experiences, greater confidence and plenty of ideas to take into their future writing.
We are incredibly proud that Sacred Heart was able to provide our high-achieving writers with an opportunity to shine beyond the classroom, challenge themselves and use their talents to make a difference. Knowing that their stories will ultimately bring joy to children in hospital makes the experience even more meaningful.
We hope the children battling cancer enjoy reading the stories our students created especially for them.
A huge congratulations to all of our young authors, we are so proud of you! We can’t wait to offer this wonderful experience again next year and see what stories our future writers create.
Keep an eye out for an article about our Write a Book in a Day adventure in the Chronicle!
What an amazing experience to be part of, and a special mention to Tyson Pettit who was drawn out as the highest fundraiser for the month of August. His prize pack is on its way!
