Communication

A friendly reminder that our teachers’ designated working hours are:

• Mondays and Fridays: 8:30am–3:30pm

• Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays: 8:30am–4:30pm

   

We understand that parents and carers may need to contact teachers throughout the school day. However, our teachers have multiple classes, teaching responsibilities, meetings and other commitments, so they are not always able to respond to parent emails immediately.

At Sacred Heart, we ask staff to respond to parent communication within 24–48 hours (two school days) during normal working hours. We appreciate your patience and understanding if a response is not immediate.

If your matter is urgent, please contact your child’s classroom teacher or the Principal by phoning the school office on 03 5744 3339.

We also ask families to respect our teachers’ work-life balance. Staff are not expected or required to read or respond to parent emails outside of their designated working hours or on weekends, unless there is a genuine emergency.

For the privacy and wellbeing of our staff, teachers are also advised not to respond to parent communication through social media, personal phone calls or personal text messages. All school-related communication should be directed through the appropriate school channels, such as the school office or the teacher's email contact.

Thank you for your understanding and for supporting our staff to maintain healthy and sustainable work practices while ensuring communication with families remains timely and responsive.

If you do not know your child’s teacher’s email address, you can also contact them directly through your PAM account. 

Simply select the Home ICON, click on your child's name, click on the drop down and then choose Email Staff. This will allow you to send an email directly to your child’s teacher without needing to know their email address.
