Performing Arts

Lights, Camera, Action!
It's nearly performance week for our junior students in Prep – 2!!
The stage is set and the costume and prop department are in full swing!
Next week, our Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students will be taking part in special classroom performances during their Drama lessons.
Throughout the term, our junior students have been building their confidence, creativity and storytelling skills through a range of fun drama activities. These performances are a wonderful opportunity for them to showcase what they have learned and celebrate their hard work throughout the term. I am very proud of the enthusiasm and imagination our young performers bring to every class and look forward to seeing them shine in their performances.
For our students in Years 3 –6 we have been busy developing our ensemble performances and bringing our scripts to life through rehearsals. Throughout this process, students have been learning about staging, timing, and stage presence.
Working together, we are exploring how to use the performance space effectively, support one another as a team, and engage an audience through confident and expressive performance.
**These performances will not occur until early next term. All students in Year3-6 have received their character role and an additional script they can take home to help with their dialogue. If students require another copy or wish to talk about their performance, they are welcome to come and see me at recess or lunchtimes – I am here in the Performing Arts room.
Singing, dancing and signing off!
