Principal's News

Dear Parents
It has been an inspiring and eventful term two to date filled with remarkable achievements, vibrant cultural celebration and deep appreciation for the support of our Community.
We are thrilled to share the outstanding success of our girls’ volleyball and basketball teams where they were crowned (Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia National Schools Event (GOAANSE) Champions at the recent competition between Greek Orthodox Schools of Australia, held in Perth. Our students’ sportsmanship and team spirit were at the fore and all students gave of their best and were outstanding ambassadors of our School at this prestigious event. We look forward to recognising our School’s achievements and participation in early June at a Middle and Senior School Assembly.
Congratulations are also extended to our Middle School Boys EISM Soccer Team on being crowned champions following a hard fought win in the recent Grand Final against Bialik College.
In strong alignment with the values of Round Square, Oakleigh Grammar celebrated World Cultural Diversity Day, a vibrant occasion that brought the entire School community together in celebration of our students’ cultural heritage. Students (and staff) proudly represented their heritage through traditional attire, dance, music and cuisine, reinforcing the importance our School places on cultural diversity and global citizenship. The energy and pride displayed were a powerful reminder of the unity that grows from our differences.
Adding to this week’s memorable moments, we were honoured to induct two distinguished former students into the Oakleigh Grammar Alumni Hall of Fame.
This special event, held yesterday, acknowledged Alumni who have made significant contribution in their respective fields and continue to embody the School’s values long after graduation. Congratulations are extended to the Inductees for 2025; Dr Chris Plakiotis (Class of 1991) and Mr Andrew Korlos (Class of 2005).
Our Hall of Fame Inductees inspire our current students to strive for excellence, live for purpose and continue the legacy of Oakleigh Grammar.
A warm welcome is extended to our new Business Manager, Mrs Elizabeth Chackola who commenced with us last week.
