Over the past fortnight, our Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 students have been enthusiastically participating in Physical Education lessons focused on developing their fundamental movement skills. Through a variety of fun and engaging activities, students have been practising running, jumping, balancing, throwing, catching, and kicking.

During the past two weeks, students have been engaging in perceptual motor activities designed to develop their fundamental movement skills and spatial awareness. These activities have helped students improve their coordination, balance, body control, and understanding of how their bodies move within different spaces. It has been wonderful to see students growing in confidence as they challenge themselves and develop their skills.

Throughout lessons, students have also been learning the importance of teamwork, cooperation, and following instructions while participating in games and group challenges. We are proud of the effort, enthusiasm, and positive sportsmanship our Foundation and Year 1 students continue to demonstrate during Physical Education. Thank you to the Year 6 students who helped our Foundation students build their skills, well done.

Over the past fortnight, Year 3 and 4 students have been revisiting and demonstrating the soccer skills they have learned throughout the unit. Students have been given opportunities to showcase their understanding of key skills, including dribbling, passing, receiving, and controlling the ball, while working both independently and with teammates.

To further develop these skills, students have been participating in modified soccer activities and small-sided games such as Number Soccer. These activities encourage students to apply their soccer skills in game-like situations, make quick decisions, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with their peers. It has been fantastic to see students growing in confidence as they transfer their skills from practice drills into gameplay.

We are proud of the enthusiasm, teamwork, and positive sportsmanship displayed by our Year 3 and 4 students as they continue to develop their soccer knowledge and skills.
